I love any reason to get down to the loop. I had to pickup my passport at the immigration office and I found this walk in the card set. Harold Washington Library is amazing and a great place to start this walk. One of our favorite things to do is to browse independent book stores and Sandmeyer's didn't disappoint. The fine and rare books store is no longer there, but the Franklin Building is. Dearborn station is a treat as well and we found a funky local grocer with interesting items. We walked right in front Columbia College (a friend's son is a freshman there) which also houses the Museum of Contemporary Photography. We also saw many well dressed men and women enter the Spertus Center for the premiere of the South Asian film festival.
Start: Harold Washington Library at Congress Parkway (Ida B Wells) & S. State St.
